Ellis’s current practice explores the theme of personal fortification in contemporary society. Through protective or restrictive garments and currently icons and amulets she examines patriarchal order as imposed on women. Tenet is a range of hand quilted protective undergarments further fortified with icons to protect the wearer from the rigors of the post 9/11 world.
