Show runs from 21st November - 9th December 2012

GALLERY 1
FOYER SPACE
GROWTH
DAVID PEARCE
This body of work explores the transformation of common or familiar materials, into objects of promise that are open to the interpretation of the viewer. The pieces are a dialogue with each other. When viewed together, the organic works and the geometric pieces appear as contrasts. However, we are able to recognize similarities in such contrasting forms.

SPACE A
COPYSHOP EDITIONS
c3 Projects presents the release of Copyshop Editions
CREATED BY JON BUTT + SIMON MACEWAN

ARTISTS: JO SCICLUNA - VIVIAN COOPER SMITH - LUCY JAMES - CARMEL SEYMOUR
SIMON MACEWAN - SCOTT MITCHELL - DANAE VALENZA - SALOTE TAWALE
Generated out of c3’s interest in group-oriented, activity based collaborative processes, the COPY-SHOP project was staged in August of this year. 8 artists worked together as ‘employees’ of a staged photocopy retail outlet within the gallery.
This exhibition presents the print based outcomes of the project and collateral documentation from the process.

SPACE B
NOTHING IS SET IN STONE
NAOMI ELLER
Adam and Eve are the generic representations of man and woman, the snake as a force of life, death and choice. The use of the three fates through many cultures each control aspects of our time on Earth. Birds since the time of antiquity have been the ethereal beings, the divinities.
The use of all these symbols continually inform an ongoing dialogue in my practice, exploring the weight of our existence as mortals and our yearnings for a trust in the inevitable abstraction that is life. The historical referencing help contextualise and affirm our inherent nature and provide the dialogue between our past and present.

PROJECT ROOM
STILL MOTION
IAN TIPPETT
Still Motion is an animation that projects a figure into a simulated pool of water. The emerging image could be Narcissus captivated by his reflection, frozen in stillness but brought to life by a breathing illusion of movement.

GALLERY 2
GET ME OUT OF HERE
HAYLEY WEST + TOBIAS RICHARDSON
Hayley & Tobias work apart for this project; from the Blue Mountains and Ethiopia respectively. A collaboration processed from two different everyday realities; being homebound and travelling freely. What results is an everyday account of living and working a month apart. Having recently moved from Darwin Northern Territory, West & Richardson now find their feet in an awkward terrain, living momentarily in NSW.
